Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. I finally got around to playing Hades, the megahit roguelike from Supergiant Games. It did well enough over long enough to get a sequel, but I'm still writing about the old original one. It takes me a long time to build up the energy to pour in the number of hours a game like this requires. It's a 2020-vintage roguelike, which means: A bunch of rooms with fights.

Hi, I have just created a new node with Layout component using Creator 3.8.5 Adding chilren in Editor and the children are auto arranged as expected Using code to add chilren at runtime (or toggling children active/inactive) doesnt cause the layout to be auto arranged. Even calling Layout.updateLayout() doesnt work Could you the Engine developers please check out?

This is a very good question. Unfortunately, there isn't really a good answer for this because those of us on the ground aren't privy to the meetings or decision-making process where such things are decided. I have no super accurate formula for you, because we're almost always operating on incomplete data. The best I can offer is a general approach that I've internalized over time that has served me well.

I tried to replicate the bug on a brand new project but it didnt occur. After a while debugging I have found the reason! I added children to the Layout node when its active = false I called director.pause() right before calling Layout.active = true. The pause command stopped the layout component from rearranging its children I dont know if it can be called an engine bug, but it could be pretty popular when the game devs try to show/hide some dialogs on game pause/resume.
