After years of development all the planned content is finally ready, the game is being thoroughly tested and there's some polish to be done, achievements to be added and such, but it's ready enough for a date to be set and that date is - April 2023. I know the exact date but will keep it hidden for now, not because of some great mystery but because I didn't submit the build for the steam review and that might take some time, so until that's all done let's just say April.

What can you expect?

There's going to be 25 handcrafted levels in various sizes and difficulty, all accessible from a global map of the island(s). A quarter of the map I've left blank on purpose, as to be able to add more content later, like the challenge levels in the first game, maybe some mini-campaign, who knows. The idea is that I will add something, and I've build the game including the map to be able to accommodate that when it happens, without having to rebuild parts of the foundation.

There's also, not counted in the regular levels, five boss battles. So if you want to add that, it makes it 30 total. And then on top of that, there'll be 5 secret/hidden levels, including the underworld which is a crucial part of respawn/continues mechanics... so in a way, that's 35. Which is the same number as in the first game, but this time you can and have to revisit levels in order to reach previously inaccessible areas, collect the remaining coins and have even more fun with new skills unlocked.

The Root

The game has been tested using 720p, 1080p and 1440p screens, and with the size under 45 Mib (GnC1 was 17 MiB on release in 2016) and 2D graphics which are not overly hardware demanding, it's perfect for handhelds like, for example, Steam Deck or it's clones/competitors.

I'm gonna go back to work in order to have it ready in time, and you are welcome to follow and wishlist it so you're first to know when it releases. Thank you!
