Hey all, I’m back with a really disappointing film for this week’s Movie Monday. It’s The Poison Rose.

Plot: The plot is really boring, and the base premise never really is fulfilled: L.A. private investigator Carson Phillips is on a job to check on a mental health ward patient, and it really never goes anywhere from there. It literally is never solved. The rest of the film doesn’t get much better, and I honestly fell asleep during a bit in the middle though I was quickly awakened by my aunt who was watching the film with me.

Casting: This is a real shame considering both JohnTravolta, as our lead Carson, and Morgan Freeman, as the character named Doc, are both in this film. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to save the really lackluster plot.

Cinematography: Nothing of real note occurs. It’s kind of boring.

Music: It fit the Noir style I suppose, but that’s about the best that can be said of this film.

Overall: There’s a darn good reason this film has a rating of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.  This film was just plain bad.
