The Evolution/History of the Godot Game Engine

The Godot game engine release was first announced in January 2014 then was released in open source in February of the same year. This wasn’t actually the beginning for the game engine though, it actually started life as the Larvita 3 engine, which was also recently open sourced.

In celebration of nearly a decade of existence, today we take a look back at major milestones in the history of Godot. If you are interested in checking out these old releases yourself they are available here.
