Publisher Firesquid Sets the Bar for Great Strategy Games

[Paris, France / September 27, 2023] - Publisher Firesquid has set the tone in 2023 by bringing together some of the best current and upcoming games in the strategy genre. With the tagline, “strategy games revisited,” the team wanted to give a closer look at some of their most recent projects and speak on their future plans as they continue to help bring more great strategy games onto PCs and consoles.

Firesquid is an indie publisher focused on games that include strategizing and thinking in their broadest sense; from tactics to city-builders or any other game where the brain is the most important muscle. The team’s vision is to spark joy in people playing and making games. They value teamwork, honesty, and quality above all else. Firesquid works closely with developers to help them make the best games they can and focuses on developing communities around their strategy games. Firesquid are also the creators and co-hosts of Tacticon, a digital convention hosted on Steam in celebration of Strategy games, alongside fellow publisher Hooded Horse.

TactiCon is a digital convention hosted on Steam celebrating strategy video games. It highlights the brilliant and creative minds who develop strategy games and gathers the players who love them.

The second edition, organized on May 11-15, 2023, showcased 106 curated games based on a call for submissions that received more than 500 replies. It also hosted talks & panel discussions held by experts from the field of Strategy games, all available online for free through the event website.

The event is organized by the indie publishers Firesquid & Hooded Horse. The 2023 edition included a 55-minute-long program of exclusive special announcements in a digital showcase hosted live by creators ReneeSky and GamerZakh. 

As a yearly event, the 2024 edition is currently being prepared but the date can not be announced yet.
