Visual quality has increased substantially since the early days of the Oculus Rift and original Vive. In other areas, like hardware form-factor and quality of controls, things are moving more slowly, but things are still pretty good, from controller form-factor to headset comfort. I think from a quality standpoint, we’re there.

This however is dependent on both time and hardware availabity (I don't own any Android device). I do not know anyone with capable Mac hardware and an HTC Vive, so it is unknown at this time if the module will work on Mac OS X.
