I completed the main campaign in Redfall ( official site, Steam , also on Game Pass), a 4 player co-op open world shooter by Arkane Austin, who's mostly known for detailed single player story-filled action games. In this sense, playing a 75% finished game is more useful than playing a 100% finished game.

If you follow that link, you’ll see open world events occurring as the quest proceeds, done without zone or quest locking, etc. And the biggest reason why the themepark line has dominated is because it tackles mostly solved problems, compared to building a true alternate world. These were absolutely “rides” the player went on.
