Wait, are we not in Beta? The biggest challenge of this workflow is not the lightmap itself, but the fact that it should be easy to use (which is Godot's #1 design priority). Lightmapping is a very cheap operation, so it should run fine even on low end mobile. The smaller this value, the bigger the lightmaps will be.

There will likely be breaking changes between this release and the first beta release. Only the beta will mark the so-called "feature freeze" As such, we do not recommend porting existing projects to this and other upcoming alpha releases unless you are prepared to do it again to fix future incompatibilities.

The lightmap baker will now use all available cores on Windows like it does on macOS and Linux. We released a Beta 1 build a week ago. A Beta 2 build will come in the following days to address the main shortcomings reported in the first beta. Fixed issues. Here are some of the more visible bugs fixed in this release.
