The OpenXR plugin for Godot now has an official release that can be found in the asset library. We had to go through a few iterations as we're now directly pulling the asset from the releases build by Githubs CI. Godot 4 OpenVR prototype plugin. Official release of the OpenXR plugin for Godot 3.3.

The character asset and animation are from GDQuest's "godot-3d-mannequin" project and the ground texture is from Kenney's "Prototype Textures" bundle. we introduced the ability to compile the engine with double precision floats instead so that all these calculations happen with much higher precision.

in January 2020, we switched the development focus towards the upcoming Godot 4.0 , which is a major, compatibility-breaking rewrite of the engine's core and rendering. Additional funding will enable us to hire more core developers to work full-time on the engine, and thus further improve its development pace and stability.

Investor Richard Kim sees a funding gap incoming and more consolidation as a result of the difficulties around launching new games. Haussila added that investments in Supercell ID, its own game engines, social graph, and data tools will hopefully spark innovation and new ideas. Video bumpers are also now an option.
