I made a “master sheet” with all the tiles to keep things organized. I implemented a new material system for tiles. In addition to the visible texture, each tile had a lower resolution bitmap which defined the material at a given spot. They are now baked into tiles, so map editing is much easier.

Hi, i want to apply a sprite as a tiled background and apply to it an animation like a movement. This Node has a sprite set as Tiled I don’t want to make a script that calculate position and if at certain value must to set the start position. I want to give this effect changing the “offset” of the texture/sprite of it.

I have created a tiled map in tiled software and integrated in cocos too. As my game has pathfinding algorithm, I want to add the pathfinder grid in one of my tiled layer as a user node but the node is not visible in the scene but i can see it in the hierarchy. Anyone know the reason?

@rybones Actually, I did not set the parent for the nodes instead I used the tiled layer method addUserNode to add my instantiated prefab node to tiled layer. Then the nodes are added as child automatically. But cannot see them in the scene. This is how they have shown in the manual example

yes I am trying to load a tilemap into my project, i have a gamescene file, and a mainmenu that has a button in it, when I click it it goes to the gamescene, in the game scene I try to load a tilemap, it shows that theres an error and it opens the file CCTMXXMLParser.cpp as if it’s indicating to me that theres an error related to this line of the cctmxxmlparser (..)

Good progress on the tileset. I made basic outlines and shapes in Blender, then exported into Pixelmator for touchups and additional dirt layers. First time I used Geometry Nodes in Blender. The rest though, not so much… it’s a lot of work to make everything seamless, color matched and correctly exported.

So each diamond is sitting above another stone until the diamond below stops existing, in which case every diamond above is falling down to a hidden ground below the bottom tiles. Nothing special.

Don’t understand why the is an enter key have you programmed for a key keypress routine. if you look in the director of cocos2dx there at CPP test in your cocos2d-x-4.0testscpp-testsClassesTileMapTest. there should be all the snippets you need.

I am creating a tile-based level editor in which creators may rotate tiles around a point on a grid. Hello, I am using Cocos Creator 3.8.2. For any node N on the grid (x, y), how might I rotate the node around any point (a, b)? I cannot change the anchor point of N. I want some math, probably some trig involved, to solve this.

That really depends on your project code, I do think it might be related to how you scale your board, normally you won’t make each tile a node, so that means you will listen to the event on the whole board, and do some detection on which tile should react. Wide guess is the problem is happening on the detection calculation.

My game is tiled base and looking at the screenshot, I can see the tiles but their textures are pointing to a different texture it seems. I use texturepacker and I have a few big 1024x1024 textures loaded with: SpriteFrameCache::getInstance()->addSpriteFramesWithFile. Nothing fancy.
