Evo is considering new rules for which controllers are allowed in their tournaments. I find discussions of this topic often muddled by bad arguments which makes it difficult to get to the substantive part. Their call for feedback on rules is here. Their actual rule document is here. In my opinion, Hit Box controllers should be banned.

Carlsen seems like a cool world champion, I love watching ChessNetwork stream blitz, and freestyle tournaments demonstrate the potential of human/AI collaboration. From this outsider’s perspective Chess is more interesting than ever. I think it’s possible that the next 10 years will be an exciting and eventful time for the game.
