One common mistake I see with young devs is that they invest too much of their identities into what they do for work. I was the game dev. I worked on famous games that most people had played, or at least heard of. I would caution young devs to avoid this. The game doesn't sell well and there's layoffs.

Do you have prior experience with other game engines? I have years of random experience in development with my first games made way back for Commodore 64. I used the most known game engines there were, and some of my obscure games were made in Pascal, and even Matlab. We got the game working on Mac as well.
